BPD helped the Memphis Jewish Community Center (MJCC) prepare a masterplan for their outdoor recreation area a few years ago. The newly constructed Pickleball Courts are a key piece in the implementation of the recreational masterplan.
The 8-competition level pickleball courts provide an area for the MJCC to host pickleball tournaments. The facility is also available to pickleball enthusiasts to play on high quality courts with nice amenities. The 8 courts are situated around a central plaza with four overhead shade structures that include seating, electrical outlets, and ceiling fans. These areas provide seating between games or for family and friends during events.
The courts also feature players’ benches for each court and are all enclosed in competition appropriate fencing. The courts are located near the parking area along a nice promenade complete with landscaping and a central paving node with room for food trucks or other event-specific vendors.
Since opening, the Pickleball Courts have had people playing almost daily and even hosted tournaments for local players. The courts were installed by Grinder Taber Grinder. We look forward to its continued success!
